Lynne was asked, “WHAT DOES SOCIAL ENTERPRISE MEAN TO YOU?”

“It’s interesting because if you look at the word “social” there is an association with society and mission driven, mainly non-profit organizations that benefit society. Then there is an association of the word with collaboration and communication, as in what has been going on with social media now in the last few years.

So businesses can be collaborative, they can foster communication, they can be incredibly successful as a business AND they can give back to their employees, partners and society in so many ways.

That’s kind of like an enterprise being “omniscient” and focused on good in all of its dealings. That represents a fundamental change in the way business has been done in the USA and much of the world. But it’s absolutely the kind of change that is needed for future generations.”
